Bruno Lapeyre joined l’École Estienne in 1984. In 1985 he passed the entrance exam for the CFT Gobelins in Paris in the photography section and at l’École nationale supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris, in the painting section. He graduated in 1991.
Fascinated by the arrival of new technologies he soon started working professionally in computer graphics and video. He decided to gradually move back into art. His studies have lead him towards more classic mediums such as painting, drawing. He continues to work at the same time on his photographs entrusting them with representing reality, which he is gradually offloading onto his pictorial work. As reflected in his Morphogenèses he is now trying, through painting, to discover the source of representation, when does a being become a being, an object and object? His photographic work is following the same path by fixing a reality beyond the sensational, there where life begins to emerge, where language first stammers or shouts.
